The houses here are a mix of Victorian terrace painted in complementing pastel shades and are all well cared for. A walk across Alfred Square and along historic Middle Street, where little has changed since the 18th Century, will bring you to a run of vintage home furnishings and contemporary art shops that lead to the main High Street with all its amenities. Deal's weekly Saturday morning market is close by (Union St car park on Saturday mornings). The walk along the promenade to Deal Pier past impressive Georgian seafront houses is a must.
